A list of promises for children

  1. And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; (Genesis 9:9)

  2. Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. (Exodus 22:22)

  3. Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace: And he shall have it, and his seed after him, [even] the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel. (Exodus 25:13)

  4. O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! (Deuteronomy 5:29)

  5. And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb... in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee. (Deuteronomy 7:13)

Instructions for discipline

  1. Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. (Proverbs 29:17)

  2. Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. (Proverbs 19:18)

  3. Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work [be] pure, and whether [it be] right. (Proverbs 20:11)

  4. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

  5. Withhold not correction from the child: for [if] thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. (Proverbs 23:13)

  6. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. (Ephesians 6:1)

  7. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (Hebrews 12:6)
